Chairman and CEO, John Proust discusses the economic advantages of building a mine in Japan
The economics of building a mine are far superior in Japan than other places in the world. Japan built smelters that require supplies of silica-rich gold ores as smelter flux. A mine would directly ship gold ore to a smelter. From an economic standpoint, that removes the need for the capital expenditure to build costly infrastructure, and the permitting and timing that's associated with that.
